Security Fabric

Understand the components of the Fortinet Security Fabric, how to deploy a root and downstream topology, extend it to switches and APs, and use automation stitches.

The Fortinet Security Fabric links Fortinet and third-party products into a single, coordinated security architecture with shared visibility and automated response. Core members include the root FortiGate, downstream FortiGates, FortiAnalyzer (central logging/analytics — recommended for the fabric), FortiManager (central management), and Fabric-aware devices such as FortiSwitch, FortiAP, FortiClient/EMS, FortiSandbox, and FortiMail.

The fabric delivers three pillars: broad visibility across the attack surface, integrated detection via shared telemetry, and automated response through stitches. The topology and physical/logical views, plus the Security Rating, aggregate posture across every member.

Which appliance is the recommended central logging member of the Security Fabric?
